On the Verge of a Breakthrough

I am cringing at the thought of showing you guys this, but I am so excited! J has been doing awesome with her feeding therapy in the last two weeks and I am so proud of her. She is actually chewing!!! It's awkward and she's still very apprehensive but this is the first time I've felt hopeful in a long time.

Why am I cringing? Well you can hear my voice in the video and let's just say it's ain't pretty. Mad props to Izzy Mom for sharing hers, but mine sounds like Minnie Mouse. So turn the volume down real low and check out my little girl CHEWING!!!!

P.S. Oh and yes, at the end she says, "and now I get a present!"

How was everyone's mother's day?!?!?

That was great! Way to go J!

Your voice is very nice....not at all "Minnie Mouse".

My Mother's Day was pretty nice sans my 'husband'. The jerk.

Isn't it nice to celebrate their accomplishments? My daughter has a constipation problem, so every time she goes #2 we are just as enthusiastic. Funny what makes us happy as Moms. Hope you had a great Mother's Day.

yes, you get a present. you get to digest food that has been chewed. when I was little, I hated vegetables SO much that I used to swallow them whole, like pills -with a drink. let's just say the digestion process was a painful one.

Hey you're voice doesn't sound like any character from the Mickey Mouse clan...

Hi J's Mommy (and all you other mommy readers):

Just wanted to tell you that I loved your The Old Me, The New Me post. And your 100 things about yourself. You seem like a hip mommy. I'm also a journalist and about to become a mommy in August. I found you one night in a fit of desperation/lonliness/
frustration/panic and I started to Google "mommy blogs." Good stories. You can visit my site at www.sarahcrosbie.com. (Not much mommy content yet, though.)

Oh man, I was grinning through that whole thing -- seeing her chew and hang in there -- how amazing! It's obvious you have been working hard with your daughter on the feeding issues.

I like your voice, it was great to hear it. Especially the singing!!

This is fabulous! My son watched it with me four times and he clapped for her because he was so happy she learned how to chew.

I loved your voice. It sounded like the volce of a loving mom.
