Nothing in life is perfect, as mothers we know that well. Still, it's the imperfect moments in life that really make it interesting.
The same goes for me and the pictures I take. They aren't perfect, by a long shot. I'm still learning and growing. I take a million pictures and end up deleting so many because of their imperfections. They're overexposed, cluttered, someone's eyes are closed, or the picture is blurry. As was the case with this picture of Big J. It's out of focus but it's one of my favorites.
She's laughing. She's really laughing. She's not giving me a cheesy smile. She's not even thinking about the camera. She's just having fun. She's being a kid. It's one of those pictures that would have been deleted. It's not perfect, but to me, it captures her personality perfectly!
This is part of the Thursday Theme over at Stacy's. Go check out all the other great photos. Oh and I added some pictures to my photo blog. Anyone care to take a look and give me some suggestions, constructive criticism?

She has the most beautiful smile/laugh. I can see why this pic is a keeper.
I get those shots of my niece and nephews all the time. I love them, but they're not in focus, yet I still keep them. You have to! Love the shot of her!
Love the shot! I love the non-posed shots; they are always the best! :)
Beautiful shot! You need to keep these types of pictures - perfect or no. These are the pictures of childhood and what you will want to have when they are all growed up. :)
It's adorable - you can feel her laughter!
It's a wonderful picture. :) And I'd keep it regardless of the blurriness because I agree with you, that shows her happy and laughing and it's perfect in its own right. Capturing motion with a digital camera is always hard but your picture is great!
She obviously has THE perfect smile...what childhood joy! I took a photo of my niece this week and she was laughing so hard, her eyes welled up with tears. I wondered when was the last time that I felt such joy? It is a perfect thing to see a child laugh like that!
It's perfect - I wouldn't have deleted it either. What a great smile!
That is the perfect shot to capture her (clearly) bubbly personality!
I totally agree with you - the "perfect" pictures are not the ones that are technically flawless, but rather the ones that capture the essence of the person. Like this one. :o)
Candid moments are absolutely perfect. I can hear her.
