My Favorite Places

My refrigerator is one of my favorite places. No, not because that's where the food is. It's where I hang all of J's school projects. When I look at it I see creativity. She loves to paint and color and cut with scissors (with help, of course). I love imagining that she'll be a great artist one day and instead of hanging pictures up on the fridge, I can see them in a gallery.

My other favorite place is my closet. It's the one reason I agreed to buy this house. I grew up in a small house with midget closets. No really! The ceilings were slanted so I never had a true closet. I had to bend down every day to get my clothes out. Now, I have a closet to be proud of. It's not finished yet, but when it is you will all be jealous! OK maybe not, but I'd like to think so. I've never had anything that someone else was jealous of. So, just lie to me and tell me it's beautiful.

What's your favorite room in your house?

My favorite room in the house is my son's room. There is no television, no phone and no refigerator. It's full of toys and fun.

When we were preparing the room we didn't know the sex of the baby, so we painted each of the walls a different color (orange, green, yellow and purple) and put different sized squares of the other colors on each wall (sounds cooky, but it really looks neat). I remember sitting in there when I was pregnant wondering who this little little person was and what he/she would be like. It was a magical place to get away from the craziness of being pregnant.

Now, Aiden loves to read books and play in his room. I still find myself sitting in there wondering what he will be like when he gets older. It is my favorite room to dream in and I hope he feels the same way someday.

I'm really jealous of your closet, seriously. We live in base housing and the closets are pitiful to say the least.

I would have to say my favorite room in the house is the kitchen. I love cooking and the kids love hanging out with me in there. :)

Hey J's Mommy!! Thanks so much for visiting me....I thought I would return the favor!!
My favorite room in my house (and this going to sound crazy) is my laundry room!!! Our first house had one bathroom and it was combined witht he laundry. When we bought this house I was beside myself because I had a HUGE laundry room. I have lots of cabinets for storage. I have a countertop with a double sink. It is so big that I was able to fit in a small chest freezer last Christmas!!! It also doubles as my home office, so my desk and computer are all in there too!
This was a great post...you've inspired me!
Oh, btw, I absolutely LOVE your closet! And, your fridge looks a lot like mine!!!!

My favorite place in the house is my kitchen. We gather in there as a family at all times - I have many happy memories around my dinner table and will make many more.

I found your site in Blog Explosion and I just love it! I will be visiting often.

BTW - I would love a closet like that!

You have more room in that closet than all the closets we have combined.

Jealous?

Damn Right! :)

I covet your closet. How lucky! We live in an old house with terrible closet space.

My favourite room is my son's room. It is my favourite place for story time, cuddle time, anytime.

Yep, LOVE the closet.

My favorite room in this house would be the kitchen, despite my ongoing dreams of remodeling. It's true for us that the kitchen is the heart of the home.

I am going to steal your closet. I'm not quite sure how, but I'm going to. Hmmmm. Favorite room in the house would have to be Archer's. Sooooo Mommy of me, I know. Sigh...
