So Much to Say, So Little Time

I'm using this post to create a to-do list. There are so many things going on in my life right now that I need a place to keep it all together.

-Write a speech for my sister's wedding this weekend. THIS WEEKEND! My sister, my best friend is gettin hitched on Saturday and I know she's expecting me to say somethin. I gave a speech at her bridal shower and to be quite honest, I'm not sure how I'm going to top it. I was thinking about having my daughter record something for me to play back at the wedding.

-Update Lollipop. I found some great new products and tons of cool books to link to. I also created a new section there called True Mom Confessions and I was hoping you all would send in some e-mails. Also, I still have a contest running. If you've got some extra time (and yes, I know you don't, but humor me), send in your essay. There are prizes involved. The deadline is the end of July.

-Clean my house. Do you know that it's been WEEKS since I've done any sort of cleaning. I do what my mom calls "pushing the dust around." I just can't find the energy to buckle down and scrub the floor or wipe down the refrigerator.

-Take my daughter's flower girl dress to be pressed. I am so worried about this weekend. I think it might end up being a disaster and I feel bad if J ruins the ceremony in any way. As you witnessed from yesterday's video, she's a bit of a screamer and I would hate for that to happen on Saturday.

-Get a manicure, pedicure, and wax my bushy brows.

Question: do you think I should tell my brothers that I am pregnant? I wasn't going to say anything until I see the doctor next week (the 25th) but we'll be at the wedding and I can't drink. And I'm notorious for getting piss drunk at weddings. What to do, what to do.

Anyway, that's my poor excuse for a post. Sorry folks, I gotta rush out the door to work. Have a wonderful day and stay cool!

great place for a "to do' list. I mean how can you get away from it right? It's here for all the internet world to see -- Unlike my own that tends to get shuffled to the bottom of the paper pile that ends up in the garbage.

As for telling your brothers your pregnant...I honestly don't know what to say about that. I planned on keeping my pregnancy with Girlie Girlie secret until Christmas but after my favorite aunt died (my mom's youngest sister) I had to tell my mom then. I just thought that she needed it. That was in Oct. of 2004 2 months shy of when I planned.

Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I'd say keep it a secret, at least until after the wedding. It's your sister's weekend to shine, after all.

As for why you're not drinking - tell them you're on duty for watching J, or that she recently asked about alcohol, and you're trying to set a good example in front of her.

I say keep it a secret until after the wedding too and make up a plausible excuse for the non alcohol. I am sure your speech will be great. Enjoy!!

I agree, if your sister already knows, go ahead and spill the beans. It is a day for celebration and I am sure they can be happy for you and your sister.

If you don't drink and say nothing, they will probobly know anyway.

Good luck!

Drink Sprite with lime and say it's a gin & tonic?

I LOVE the Lollipop! Great site!

I would have an impossible time keeping such a wonderful secret, but I wish you luck if that is what you decide to do!

As for the speech, just talk from your heart!

wow what an exciting weekend coming up!!! I am terrible at keeping secrets but after the last time I was pregnant and lost it ... if it happens again for me I am going to be quiet till we are sure the baby is going to stick!

Just have fun ... the rest will fall into place!

I'm due for a pedicure and an eyebrow wax too. Gonna do that this weekend.

Anyway, about telling your family about the pregnancy, I guess it depends on how you feel about it. I told my family right away, but waited to tell co-workers until I was past the first trimester.

Go with your gut. If you want to tell them, tell them. You'll have that much more to celebrate!

i say tell your brothers, but tell them not to tell everyone else until you are sure everything is okay. i'm sure they will understand.

it is a day of celebration and i don't think you will steal your sister's thunder at all by telling them you are preggers (although it is a considerate thought, i don't think it is something to be concerned about in this case). have a wonderful weekend!
