We've Got Poop

There's all kinds of shit going on at Casa J, literally!

Julianna has finally mastered the art of pooping on the potty. Yippee! No more diapers (well, except for bedtime). A nice little reprieve before baby number 2.

She was so excited when it finally happened. I have to admit, I had nothing to do with it. I was laying on the couch, (where you can usually find me these days) and she said she has to go potty. She walked to the bathroom, sat down on the big potty, and pushed out a little turd. All of a sudden I heard her yelling, "Mommmy, I did it!!!" It was awesome!

Hubby and I are getting ready to go to California over Labor Day weekend. We have a wedding at Disneyworld. J is staying with her grandma for 4 loooong days. Long for me, but probably not for her because grandma spoils her. She loves spending time with her.

Also, J has been doing really well with her eating. She's been trying all kinds of new things. She still prefers soft foods like pasta, but she ate a piece of cheese and some bread and she's feeding herself more.

Oh and hubby and I finally bought J a big girl bed. It comes next week. She seems excited about it but we'll see. It should'nt be too much of a transition because she's been getting out of her crib for months now. She wakes me up in the morning. I used to have a rule where she couldn't get out of bed, but she would call me endlessly from her room and it got annoying. As soon as she would wake up, she would say, "Mom, I'm awake, I'm awake," over and over until I came into her room. Being the lazy mom that I am, I told her it was okay for her to get out of bed and come see mommy, but that it was not okay to go downstairs by herself. So far she's been really good. I'm a light sleeper anyway, so I would hear her before she even got close to the stairs.

Oh, listen to this. When I first started this blog, I wrote a post about my favorite children's books. One of the ones I listed was titled, "Goodnight Little One," by Salina Yoon. Well guess who e-mailed me a few days back??? The author herself!! It was so awesome. She said she had read the post and wanted to say hello. I couldn't believe it. She has a new book coming out in October called, "Count My Blessings," about a bear who says his prayers and finds something to be thankful for in everyday life. She sent it to me with a personal message to J and she loved it.

I haven't posted in a while so I feel like I have to catch up a bit. Did anyone watch "So You Think You Can Dance?" Can I just say how much I loved Travis! He was awesome. Anyway, can't wait for my regular shows to come back on.

Okay, I'm going to stop rambling now. I've missed you guys. Can't wait to get back into the swing of things. A few more weeks and hopefully I'll feel a little more normal. Hope all is well!!!

That's awesome about the book! WOW! You never know who's reading your blogs, I guess. Neat!

About So You Think You Can Dance?...*sigh* I wanted Travis to win, too. I'm still upset about this! Though, I do have a feeling Mia will hire him anyway. :)

A big "Wooo--Hooo" to your daughter for mastering the #2! We recently crossed that milestone over at our house too, and I couldn't be happier about not changing another poopy pull-up! At least you'll have a little break before the new baby!

Wow, that is so cool that the author sent you an e-mail!
Also, congrats to J...potty training is such a milestone. And she has impeccable timing. It is so much better not to have two kids in diapers at the same time.

Yes I watched So You Think You Can Dance! I loved Travis, but I also loved Heidi and Benji. That was the first reality show I've ever seen where I didn't care who won! I almost didn't want to watch the finale because I didn't want to see the other ones get so upset about leaving!

Glad to hear you're doing well and that J is progressing so nicely! I hope that you're feeling better!

I watched too. I really liked Travis and Heidi, but Benji was my man (boy?) all along. I guess I'm partly responsible for him winning since I voted for him 100 times!

Hooray for poop! One less thing to worry about right now. Glad things are going okay.

CONGRATS to J on the whole pooping on the potty. That's so awesome for her and you too before baby 2 arrives.

Neat about the author e-mailing you and the new book. It's always so cool when things like that happen. I sent an e-mail awhile back to an author I enjoyed...Linda Leighe Miller and when she responded it was so cool. So I totally get the feeling you're experiencing.

Good for all of you! And the author emailing you? Tremendous! I kinda wish my kids were little again so I could buy all those cool kids books. ;)

Can I ask... How old is your daughter? I'm potty-training my little girl and was wondering if I'm really holding her back! I haven't gotten down and dirty yet and done the whole consistent thing! She's 2 1/2!

Also- L-O-V-E "So you think you can dance"! Never seems to last long enough though!

Your blog is very fun and interesting! Love it! Thanks!

I am so jealous of the potty... is it wrong of me to try and pass off toilet training to the nanny? :-)
